About FOWPL
Who we are and our purpose
The Friends of the Waterboro Public Library is comprised of Waterboro residents who have an interest in our local community library.
The purpose of the Friends of the Waterboro Public Library shall be to act as an advocate for good library service and use; to promote fund raising and volunteer activities to benefit the library; to enhance the Waterboro Public Library facility, including its physical plant; the acquisition of books and technology.
At this time, the primary focus of our energy is the building of a new public library and community center in Waterboro. We are grateful for all who support those efforts. We need people to join with us at our monthly meetings in order to make the decisions that guide the process. Projects need leadership. We invite you to join us some evening and see what we are about. Meetings of FOWPL are held on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Heritage Company located at 545 Main St. in Waterboro.
The friends structure includes 3 officers, President, Secretary and Treasurer, four executive board members and members. Working together, the friends organization does indeed make a difference in our local library and provides for a rewarding experince for those interested in making a difference in their community.
The friends meet every Monday evening at 7 pm at Heritage Company 545 Main St. in Waterboro. New members are always welcomed and meetings are open to the public.
